In 1990 and 1991 Eric Clapton performed 42 nights at the Royal Albert Hall in London; 18 shows in 1990 and 24 in 1991. During the run of these shows Clapton performed with three different line-ups: a rock band, a blues band, and an orchestra. The huge undertaking of rehearsing for performances of three distinctly different genres and set lists was made more challenging by the rock show line-ups varying from 4, 9 or 13 band members. Guest musicians included Buddy Guy, Albert Collins, Robert Cray and Phil Collins. The orchestra was conducted by the late Michael Kamen.Many of the performances were filmed and recorded and the huge amount of audio and film material has been painstakingly restored and the quality upgraded. These deluxe re-issues are greatly expanded compared to the original 1991 release with a wealth of previously unreleased material. The set lists featured songs from Clapton’s career up to that time, including stunning orchestral and rock performances of “Layla”, “Sunshine of Your Love”, “Wonderful Tonight”, “White Room”, “Can’t Find My Way Home” and “Crossroads”. In 1990 and 1991 Eric Clapton performed 42 nights at the Royal Albert Hall in London; 18 shows in 1990 and 24 in 1991. During the run of these shows Clapton performed with three different line-ups: a rock band, a blues band, and an orchestra. The huge undertaking of rehearsing for performances of three distinctly different genres and set lists was made more challenging by the rock show line-ups varying from 4, 9 or 13 band members. Guest musicians included Buddy Guy, Albert Collins, Robert Cray and Phil Collins. The orchestra was conducted by the late Michael Kamen.Many of the performances were filmed and recorded and the huge amount of audio and film material has been painstakingly restored and the quality upgraded. These deluxe re-issues are greatly expanded compared to the original 1991 release with a wealth of previously unreleased material. The set lists featured songs from Clapton’s career up to that time, including stunning orchestral and rock performances of “Layla”, “Sunshine of Your Love”, “Wonderful Tonight”, “White Room”, “Can’t Find My Way Home” and “Crossroads”. The 10 LP vinyl box includes the following albums: Reptile, Me & Mr. Johnson, Sessions for Robert J, Back Home, Clapton and Rarities Volume 2 2001-2010. This limited-edition vinyl-only box set comprises of five studio albums Eric Clapton recorded for Reprise between 2001 and 2010 – starting with Reptile and concluding with the eponymously titled Clapton. Originally released as a CD/DVD, this box set sees the first vinyl release of Sessions for Robert J. Each of the albums has been remastered by Bob Ludwig at Gateway Studios in Maine and the vinyl mastering was done by Chris Bellman at Bernie Grundman Mastering in Los Angeles. Simon Climie, Clapton’s long-time co-producer and engineer, oversaw these definitive remasters which are pressed on 180-gram vinyl. To further elevate the audio quality, Me & Mr. Johnson (originally released as a single LP) has been remastered as 3-sided double albums – to ensure that no single LP side exceeds 20 minutes. (The album has an etching on side 4). A “bonus” LP of Rarities compiled and produced by Simon Climie is included and covers the same period as the box. Most of the 8 tracks are out of print, hard to find, or previously unreleased on vinyl. 21. oktober slippes Thomas Dybdahls tre første album i et svært eksklusivt bokssett med mye ekstra innhold i et veldig begrenset opplag på kun 200 eksemplarer. Nummerert og signert av Thomas Dybdahl.Dybdahl slo gjennom med et brak i 2002 med det meget kritikerroste debutalbumet ...That Great October Sound, førsteopplaget ble utsolgt på én dag, singlen «From Grace» ble en stor radiohit og albumet ble året etter belønnet med både Alarmprisen, Spellemannprisen og Edvardprisen.Andre del av oktobertrilogien var Stray Dogs fra 2003, som også fikk gode kritikker samt ble nominert til Alarmprisen og Spellemannprisen. Som debuten var også dette albumet spilt inn hjemme i hans egen stue. Singlen «Rain Down On Me» gikk helt opp til 5. plass på VG-lista, og «Cecilia» ble en stor radiohit.Høsten 2004 avrundet Dybdahl sin trilogi med enda et kritikerrost album, One Day You’ll Dance For Me, New York City, som debuterte på førsteplass. Det var mer stillferdig og melankolsk enn forgjengeren, men like intimt og minimalistisk. Singlen «A Lovestory» var hovedspor til den norske spillefilmen Monstertorsdag.Disse tre klassikerne fikk nå navnet Oktobertrilogien, eller «October Trilogy», som den het da de tre platene ble samlet i en CD-boks i 2006. Jeg ble kjent med så mange fine folk når Stavanger skulle finkjemmes for musikere som kunne tenke seg å bidra på de første platene at det virket som et nytt bekjentskap ble innledet omtrent ukentlig. Noen endte jeg opp med å turnere og spille med i årevis med og de aller fleste ble en del av en utvidet vennekrets som jeg fremdeles treffer eller jobber med jevnlig. Jeg takker alle som bidro til platene og konsertene og selvsagt alle som var med oss på reisen og kom på konsertene/kjøpte platene. Håper dere vil sette pris på denne lille tidskapselen like mye som meg.B-sidene er en samling sanger som alle ble spilt inn i tiden rundt de første platene, men som gjerne stakk seg såpass mye ut at jeg ikke syntes de passet i helheten. Hadde det vært nå ville jeg bare gi de ut som enkeltstående sanger, men på den tiden tenkte jeg kun i albumformat og fikk et kick ut av sette sammen 9-10 låter som alle føltes som de hørte sammen. Box set also includes: a special customized outer box, 7 single LPs and 1 double LP, an exclusive poster, an insert with tracks/credit information and a Deicide sticker sheet in an envelope.Limited and individually numbered to 6000 unitsDeicide is an American death metal band formed in Tampa Florida in 1987 by drummer/composer Steve Asheim, and guitarist brothers Eric and Brian Hoffman as “Carnage.” They then hired bassist/lyricst/vocalist Glen Benton and became “Amon,” later changing the band name to Deicide in 1989. Prior to becoming Deicide, the band recorded the “Feasting the Beast” 8-track demo in Benton’s garage and started playing some local gigs in Tampa. In 1989, they recorded their second demo, “Sacrificial” at Morrisound with producer Scott Burns. Benton reportedly strormed into Roadrunner Records’ A&R; man Monte Conner’s office and presented him with the demo, saying “sign us, you fucking asshole!” The next day contracts were issued and the band’s name changed to Deicide at the request of the label. As Deicide the band released their self-titled debut album in 1990, which was also produced by Scott Burns. The debut featured re-recorded versions of all six of the “Sacrificial” tunes that got them signed. Both Hoffman brothers played technical solos at fast speeds with overlapping riffs, which gave the band the definitive heavy sound and complex song structures. This lineup remained intact until November of 2004, in the wake of increasing issues between Glen and the Hoffmans, allegedly regarding royalties and publishing. The Hoffman brothers later went on to reform Amon. The band rose to mainstream success in 1992 with their second album, “Legion,” and is credited as the second-best-selling death metal band of the Soundscan era, after Cannibal Corpse. Since their debut in 1990, the band has released twelve studio albums, one live album, two compilations and two DVDs. In November 2003, their first two albums, “Deicide,” and “Legion,:” were ranked second and third place in best-selling death metal albums of the Soundscan era. The band is known for their controversial lyrics, which cover topic such as Satanism, anti-Christianity, and blasphemy. Their lyrics have resulted in bans, lawsuits and criticism from religious groups. Taylor Norberg as recently as January 19, 2022, has replaced Chris Cannella on guitar. If voted to win, ROG will release the first Roadrunner Years vinyl retrospective that would include all their studio + live albums on the label from 1990-2001 plus the Feasting the Beast EP.
